Security Solution that Complements a Modern Work Environment

  • Control access to building for tenants security.
  • Limited space for a security solution.

  • Provide speed gates to prevent unauthorised access.
  • Slim design solution for minimal space.

In 2021, The Smith, a real estate development located in Kingston-Upon-Thames, was completed. With 40,000sq ft of Grade A office space, the development offers a mixture of lease types including co-working spaces, serviced offices, and managed space. It’s the ideal office for modern ways of working with a reception area that features a coffee lounge and informal meeting space.

It features a contemporary reception area with a coffee lounge, as well as a breakout area or informal meetings, making it an ideal area for modern ways of working.

The client had concerns about access into The Smith’s reception area before staff and visitors reach the lift lobby. However, with limited space, the solution had to fit into restricted area without compromising on the modern interior within the reception. In addition to this, it was also important to the client that the solution provided would help the building to maintain it’s enhanced energy conservation provisions.

Meesons provided The Smith with four EasyGate Superb Speed Gates to solve the access control issue to the lift lobby. To give the building managers greater control over access for a mixture of clients, an EasyTouch LCD capacitive remote control console was supplied, enabling control of the speed gates at the touch of a button from the reception desk.

Due to the slim design cabinet on the EasyGate Superb Speed Gates, the security solution could fit within the limited space. Three of the lanes were standard width with one EA complaint wide access lane, suitable for wheelchair access. This wide access lane was positioned directly in front of the platform lift to improve the passage into the building for wheelchair use, deliveries, and pushchair users.  Not only did the EasyGate Superbs’ utilise the restricted space, they also made a great fit since they complement the on-trend reception with the stylish look in brushed stainless steel and illuminated top lids.

Easygate Superb Speedgate

The Smith was left with the EasyGate Superb Speed Gates that prevent unauthorised access past the reception. With their low power consumption, the speed gates help the client to achieve the building’s energy efficiency goals. Staff and visitors can now enter and exit the building safely yet easily with the intuitive light guidance directing them on when to go through. Overall, Meesons helped solve the clients concerns over access control for The Smith with the EasyGate Superb Speed Gates.
