Space-Saving Security in a Boutique Flexible Office

The beautiful boutique flexible workspace, Louisa Ryland House, can be found in the Colmore Business District in Birmingham. With its multi-million-pound refurbishment now complete, the building opened with 26,000 square feet of desirable office space. It offers a range of amenities from a 150-person event area with a bar to an external courtyard cafe. Moreover, the office space is ideally located for commuters with train and bus transport links within walking distance. Despite its modern look and attributes, it also has a rich and interesting history. It was named after philanthropist Louisa Ryland, a major benefactor to Birmingham in the 19^th century. 

Challenge

Louisa Ryland House refurbishment bought the arrival of many new amenities that encourage the space to be used for the wider public. For instance, the event and conference areas enable building users to allow guests in. However, the challenge from this was to ensure that only authorised staff and visitors could gain entry further into the building, thus preventing events from being disrupted by intruders. 

 

Solution

To overcome the risk of unauthorised access to the busy Louisa Ryland House, Meesons advised the client to put in place EasyGate SG Speed Gates. By doing so, they could prevent people from going into the facilities without authorisation. This makes it a safer space for staff and visitors, even when events are taking place.  

To keep the solution in tone with Louisa Ryland Houses’ unique style, the client selected a white finish on the SG Speed Gates. This is to complement the colour scheme of the marble flooring and the matching grand reception desk. Combating the limited space available, the SG Speed Gates made the perfect solution since they’re the smallest in the range. Also, the client had complete flexibility on passage and wing lengths. This allows them to tailor the product to fit the space perfectly.  

Results

Louisa Ryland House now houses office space to multiple tenants. They use the EasyGate SG speed gates to navigate safely and safely in and out of the building. The overall look of the reception remained stylish with the addition of the security solution, as it did not compromise on the boutique, luxurious appearance. The EasyGate SG Speed Gates have achieved a discreet look that helped the client add a layer of security with the limited space available.
